Rob Caplin, Chief Musical Officer
Rob has played doublebass with the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra for 30 years, 25 years as Principal Bass. A versatile musician, he has also played electric bass in numerous bands since he was a teenager. Rob has played for crowds of over 500,000, performed at the White House, the Super Bowl, the Statue of Liberty, and all over the world. In addition to the Pops, he has played in numerous other orchestras for Peter, Paul, and Mary, Yanni, Itzhak Perlman, Rod Stewart, Yo Yo Ma, the Temptations and Luther Vandross to name a few. With the Pops, Rob has performed with such diverse artists as Henry Mancini, Tony Bennett, Marvin Hamlisch, Natalie Cole, James Taylor, Cyndi Lauper, Big & Rich, Steven Tyler & Joe Perry of Aerosmith, Andrea Bocelli, John Mellencamp, and even Big Bird of Sesame Street!

Ryan Shergold brings his smooth, passionate voice to Boston Party Machine's rock, country, pop, and jazz numbers. A lifelong performer, Ryan was the recipient of a full scholarship to Berklee College of Music in Boston, where he honed his classically trained voice. Ryan has performed with such greats as Smokey Robinson, Linda Ronstadt, Steve Winwood, and Philip Bailey. He also has sung live on Sirius radio Iceberg 95 alongside K-os and the New Pornographers. Ryan is currently working on his original music in Boston, and looks forward to singing for you.
Ashley Makailah brings her sultry, soulful voice and vibrant stage presence to Boston Party Machine's rock, pop, country, and jazz numbers. The recipient of a full scholarship to Berklee College of Music, Ashley has performed with Chaka Khan, Philip Bailey, Lalah Hathaway, Floetry, and Bobby Brown. Performances within the states include the Symphony Hall JazzFest in Boston, MA, the Mac Convention in San Francisco, CA, and the renowned NAMM Convention in Los Angeles, CA. International performances include The Jazzar Festival's 15th Anniversary Concert in Aaura, Switzerland and the 60th Anniversary of the Radio Television Serbia Big Ban in Belgrade, Serbia. Ashley loves to get an audience on its feet and dancing.
Orlando Dixon brings his soulful voice and electric stage presence to Boston Party Machine's R&B, hip hop, and jazz numbers. A classically trained vocalist at Berklee College of Music, his style mirrors such legendary artists as Donny Hathaway, Sam Cooke, and the Beatles. Orlando has performed with Lalah Hathaway, Paula Cole, and Philip Bailey of Earth Wind and Fire. He also was invited to perform in a major tribute to Smokey Robinson. Among his many accomplishments, he was named the 2009 Grand Prize Winner of DiscMakers' Design Studio Cover Search Contest, and was a 2006 finalist in VH1's Songwriting Contest. Orlando recently released his So Fresh EP, crafting a distinct sound all his own.
Lorenzee Cole brings her powerful voice and melodic phrasing to Boston Party Machine's R&B, hip hop, and jazz numbers. She has been singing with the Boston Symphony Orchestra's Tanglewood Festival Chorus since 1985. Her solo career includes television appearances with the Boston Pops Orchestra performing excerpts from "Porgy and Bess," as well as solos with the Boston Symphony, the New World Chorale, The Williams Chorale, and Opera UnMet. Most recently, she performed as soloist with the Boston Symphony Orchestra under the direction of James Levine in the world premiere of William Bolcom's Symphony No. 8 at Boston's Symphony Hall and New York's Carnegie Hall. Lorenzee is a force to be reckoned with!
